An Australian sea bass with an aboriginal name meaning river fish with large scales, Barramundi spend much of their time moving between fresh and salt water. Interestingly, almost all Barramundi begin their lives as males, yet upon maturity, most change gender and become females. Although they can swim extremely fast, Trevally primarily travel at their leisure in schools, mostly through Australia’s coastal waters, with young Trevally often swimming in the tentacles of jellyfish. Trevally grow at a slow and steady pace, but they often change their color and shape considerably.
