Enalapril Maletate, an ace-inhibitor, is commonly used in the treatment of heart conditions such as mild, moderate or severe heart failure, due to valvular disease, dilated cardiomyopathies, and high blood pressure. Enalapril may also be prescribed for certain types of chronic renal failure. ACE inhibitors work by dilating the blood vessels, decreasing the workload of the heart.
