Amoxicillin is a broad spectrum oral antibiotic which belongs to the aminopenicillin group of antibiotics. It is important to give this antibiotic exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian. Drops are highly palatable and easy to dispense to cats and fussy dogs; capsules can be hidden in a treat or meal. Amoxicillin may be given with food and should not be used in pregnant or nursing animals. May be prescribed for multiple species. Amoxicillin is the generic equivalent of Amoxil (GlaxoSmithKline), Biomox (Delmarva), Robamox-BV (Fort Dodge), Trimox (Apothecon). Amoxicillin may be prescribed for multiple species including dogs and cats.
